Camp Kappawanna sneak peak

By Stephanie Norman, Producing Artistic Director of City Theatre

Summer Camp. Those 2 words conjure up so many personal memories of late night whisperings, day time activities of swimming, boating, arts & crafts; new friends, bug juice, peanut butter and honey sandwiches, camping, bugs, bugs, bees, big skies of glittering diamonds, red clay that stained all of my clothes, mosquitos, camp fires, S’mores, BBQs, outdoor screenings of the movies, Talent Shows, sing alongs, and so much more.

These memories still resonate with me even after so many years, all of which are brought to life at Camp Kappawanna. Last year’s runaway musical hit, Camp Kappawanna written by pop star Lisa Loeb with book by Miami’s own “Sons of Anarchy” writer Mario Ramirez is back with a 2 week engagement at the Arsht from June 15-26.

Catch one of 2 free sneak previews of City Theatre’s Camp Kappawanna this weekend at:

* Books & Books in the Gables, Sat., May 21, 11am * Byron Carlyle on Miami Beach: Sunday, May 22, 2pm.

Sing along with the cast to such catchy songs as  “Going Away”, “Best Friend”, “Camp Rules”, and “When it Rains”.  Summer is almost here, and so is Camp!

The previews are free, and no reservations are necessary.
