Strokes for Notes: 100 instruments into the hands of 100 children

Celebrate the arts and make a difference this weekend as Sebastian Spreng, the Kelley Roy Gallery, Knight Foundation and the Miami Music Project launch Strokes for Notes. The program runs from June 11-30 and has the goal of getting 100 instruments into the hands of 100 children. Kick off the fun this Saturday (June 10) from 5-9pm. Purchase a Sebastian Spreng painting (“stroke”) from the Kelley Roy Gallery (50 NE 29 St, Wynwood) and the gallery will donate $50 to the Miami Music Project. Knight Foundation will match the amount and the Miami Music Project will provide a musical instrument and instruction (“notes”) to a child in need.

Visual arts journalist Anne Tschida writes of Spreng’s work: “Everyone knows the difference between good salad bars and terrible ones. The “Salad Bar“ that just opened at the Kelley Roy Gallery

Bring home the work and make a difference in a child’s life this weekend.
