Starting at 7 p.m., the festival will also showcase dance from some of South Florida’s established and up-and-coming dance companies, choreographers and dancers. Curated by Afua Hall, “Same Stage” at the Family Festival, described as a “a multicultural evening of dance that will offer audiences the opportunity to see a diverse array of local choreographers, performers and dance styles” will include performances by Carlota Pradera, Priscilla Marrero, Karen Peterson and Adam Eckstat among others.

There will be Haitian Folk with live music by Yanui Cezar and Tradisyon Lakou Lay and the fierce, heart-thumbing sounds of West African drumming by Delou African Dance Company. There will also be break dancers from Raw Miami Crew and a classic ballet by Thomas Armour Youth Ballet. No matter your taste in art, music or dance, “Discover Art! Family Festival” will have something for the entire family. Plus, the festival is a wonderful way to expose your family to Miami’s thriving visual and performing arts community. The festival may even inspire some youngsters to become Miami’s next generation of artists.

And, once again, this entire event is free and open to the public so there’s no reason not to go.
