Community Supported Art continues to spread organically across the country

By Laura Zabel, Springboard for the Arts

What we’ve learned about the Community Supported Art model is that it is tremendously malleable to fit the needs of communities of very different sizes, geographies, and artistic disciplines. As long as a few core values are in place, all the rest can be changed and adapted. For example, here is a really lovely, thoughtful piece from Allison Dell writing for City Paper in Philadelphia, where the core principles and goals of CSA–creating new access points, connecting artists directly with patrons, and creating new alternative models for artist-support–really come through.
