Rather than try to entice large corporations to relocate in Grand Forks, this project seeks to harness the region's own strengths. It will bring innovations and inventions from university laboratories to the marketplace through patenting the intellectual property, and then forming corporate joint ventures or spin-off companies. The end result will be the creation of new high-value businesses that will provide higher wage opportunities for graduating students and the community at large.
