To develop an umbrella organization for jazz in southeast Michigan through support of Jazz Planet, an audience development and outreach project
To support Plowshares Theatre Company in carrying out its artistic mission of developing new works in African-American theater for a culturally and socially diverse audience
To offer year-round enrichment activities, including art and movement appreciation, and expansion of the African Drum and Dance program
To build awareness of the significant contributions that arts and culture organizations make to the social capital of the region with a long-term, comprehensive Cultural Census project called "Making the Case"
As part of a group of funders, support Detroit's Plan of Adjustment developed by the Emergency Manager, to allow Detroit to emerge from bankruptcy a financially sustainable community that can better engage and serve its citizens. At the same time, securing the assets of the Detroit Inst. of Arts as a resource for the City and the region.
