Amy Starlight Lawrence joined Knight Foundation in July 2010 as a program associate in the journalism department. In 2012 she became a project specialist on the grants administration team. Lawrence develops and manages grants throughout the organization and provides support in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the foundation’s grant making activities.

She has a Master of Science from the London School of Economics in social policy and development, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami in broadcast journalism and international studies. She sits on the Advisory Council for the Center for International Media Assistance.

Lawrence previously worked in development finance as a manager for an international asset recovery association and as a business analyst in banking and small business lending for projects in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
