Polly M. Talen

Polly Talen joined Knight Foundation in September 2002. Since then, Talen has helped launch multi-year initiatives in St. Paul focused on equitable transit-oriented development, young children's mental health care and young children's oral health care, as well as a 10-year effort in the Duluth Superior area to accelerate entrepreneurship.
Before joining Knight, she was senior vice president of nonprofit and foundation partnerships for DoTheGood Inc., an online philanthropy company, and the longtime senior program officer at the Dayton Hudson Foundation. There, she managed its social action portfolio and directed Child Care Aware, a public/private collaboration that increased professionalism of family child care in over 35 communities. Past professional roles include manager of community affairs for Target Stores and executive director of the Minneapolis Girls Club.
Talen earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Wellesley College and a master of science degree in business from University of Wisconsin.
