Gabrielle Megias joined Knight Foundation’s 2018 summer internship in June. She works with the Human Resources team. 

Megias is a South Florida native, and graduated from Florida State University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in women studies. Upon graduating, she returned to Miami to a complete a year as a corps member with City Year, an Americorps program that trains young adults to work alongside staff at low-performing schools to improve student attendance, behavior and coursework. From there, Megias went on to work as a care coordinator with The Alliance for GLBTQ Youth before returning to school this year to begin a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from FIU. She believes that workplace culture is integral to an organization’s ability to achieve its mission and sustain a motivated and engaged workforce. Megias hopes to continue to grow as an HR professional in the non-profit setting.
