MIAMI, Fla. — Anne Corriston, an experienced nonprofit professional from Wichita, has joined the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as a community liaison program officer serving Wichita, Kan.; Aberdeen, S.D.; and Grand Forks, N.D. In this expansion of Knight’s field staff, Corriston replaces Julie Tarr, who remains based in Philadelphia, and will work in the Knight communities of Philadelphia and State College and Polly Talen, who remains in St. Paul, Minn. and will work with the Knight communities of St. Paul and Duluth.
Knight has 10 community liaisons who function as the primary grant-making officers in the 26 communities where the foundation serves as a local funder. Knight liaisons coordinate with nonprofit organizations in their communities and work with local advisory committees to identify funding priorities.
Corriston most recently served as the director of development and financial resources for Episcopal Social Services in Wichita. In addition to developing funding sources for the organization, she collaborated on projects with other community agencies such as women’s crisis shelters and area food ministries. Prior to this, she raised funds for the Wichita Children’s Home and Hospice Incorporated, now known as Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Corriston graduated magna cum laude from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s in business administration majoring in marketing. She is an active member of the Kansas Professional Grantwriters Association.
