The Jason Taylor Foundation is taking over South Florida with youth poetry

The Jason Taylor Foundation is taking over South Florida with youth poetry. Louder Than A Bomb Florida, a Knight Arts Challenge Grant recipient, utilizes the art of spoken word poetry to provide students with the platform to share their stories with the world. Also supported by The Miami Dolphins Foundation, Nova Southeastern University, and many others, LTAB Florida includes year-round in-school and after-school instruction and mentoring, and it culminates in an 11-day poetry festival. During the festival, poetry teams representing schools across the region will “compete” in a tournament of poetry slams that ends in the eventual crowning of a Louder Than A Bomb Florida champion! Though the competition is exciting, the work, writing, connections, and community-building are the real benefits of this outstanding project.

The festival takes place from April 8, 2015 to April 18, 2015. All of the events are open to the public, and many are free. To find out more about Louder Than A Bomb Florida, see the schedule, and purchase tickets, please visit bluapplepoetry.org.
