The Orange Island Arts Foundation seeks work from Florida writers in any genre. Submit a high-quality video recording of your work (mobile phone recordings are acceptable) in an interesting location.

But consider this: The theme of the video montage is “Orange Island is…” What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “Orange Island”? For me, it’s orange juice, but I’m not sure how smart it would be to film inside a giant vat of fresh squeezed orange juice.

Anyway, come up with your own unique location, a place that is meaningful and magical to you. You must also use the phrase “Orange Island is…” and “creatively define and/or describe this in one or two sentences” in your recording. Include a document that includes the script of your reading with your submission, along with your name, email address, address of your Facebook page and Twitter handle. Deadline: Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 11:59 p.m.
