Knight Foundation is on the hunt for a dynamic individual to join our Communications team and help amplify the voice of one of the nation’s leading advocates for democracy.

As a vital member of our communications team, you’ll play a key role in shaping our public presence and furthering our mission to support informed and engaged communities. Your day-to-day will range from collaborating with grantees for multimedia content, to updating our digital platforms, to executing on marketing campaigns, and to supporting our social media strategy.

You will report to Knight’s director of marketing & communications in our Miami, FL headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Support executing on the Knight Communications agenda by adhering to and in some cases driving timelines and deadlines according to our editorial calendar; coordinating and supporting external vendors to do the same.
  • Production: Play an integral role in executing multimedia campaigns that spotlight Knight’s initiatives and insights, acting as a thought partner for stakeholders and ensuring seamless production from start to finish.
  • Content Creation: Transform complex ideas into engaging, accessible narratives across various formats, contributing to our mission of fostering clarity and insight.
  • Digital Strategy: Bolster our digital presence by executing on a proactive content strategy, keeping a pulse on audience interactions to glean insights that enhance engagement.
  • Email Marketing: Design and implement impactful email marketing campaigns, maintaining message coherence across stakeholders, managing contact lists, and analyzing campaign performance.
  • Event Support: Collaborate with our events team and partners to ensure the flawless execution of significant gatherings.

What We Value in Candidates:

  • A passionate commitment to Knight’s mission, with a deep interest and understanding of free speech, local media, arts and culture, engaged, inclusive and equitable communities, and research in areas of media and democracy.
  • Exceptional writing and editing prowess, with a solid foundation in public relations or journalistic writing.
  • A proven track record in effective social media management.
  • Proficiency with a leading CMS (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) and email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, Constant Contact).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in graphic design and video production.
  • Basic coding knowledge (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) and familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, ready to tackle any challenge head-on.

Knight Foundation offers competitive pay, a generous benefits package, and is an equal opportunity employer. The target salary range for this role is $69,400 – $86,800.
