Now that Art Basel has come and gone, you’ve probably seen all the art you can stomach for just one month. And Second Saturday seemed to have come a week earlier this December with countless strings of opening receptions from Wynwood across to the Design District. Doubtlessly, every gallery put its best foot forward in hopes of snagging a sale from out of town collectors, or to just plain take advantage of the heavier than usual gallery walk traffic.

All this leads us to wonder, what this month’s Second Saturday has in store for us. From the looks of things, you’re not going to see anything new. Most galleries seemed to have had their openings earlier in December to coincide with Basel festivities. But the thing about Basel week is that there’s so much going on, you can’t realistically see everything. Here are just a few of the shows that’ll still be up this weekend that you may have missed the first time around.

At the old Moore Space in the Design District CCE had put together a group show of Central American Art, titled Migrations: Looking South.

Dorsch Gallery continues with its 30 year retrospective on the work of seminal Miami artist Robert Thiele.

You can still catch the collaborative works of Gean Moreno and Ernesto Oroza in Archipelago, at Ideadbox Artspace (2417 N. Miami Ave.) one of the more interesting and overlooked shows of the past month.

Meanwhile at Spinello Gallery, the Littlest Sister exhibition has come down, but in its place a Toys for Tots charity event, with cookies and other treats, and a Christmas tree lighting. Just be sure to bring one unwrapped gift.
