Yay! What can be said about the Miami-based artist collaborative that hasn’t been said before? They’ve been called everything from cute and magical, accessible as well as subversive, and even Miami’s answer to Takashi Murakami. The duo have been making art since 2002 and are still finding new and improved ways to infiltrate the culture at large, and in an always playful way, reassess the ways in which audiences interact with art.
Here are just some of the projects FWY have in store for Fall:
A brand new, super top secret interactive theme park in Los Angeles this week in honor of Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary.
This picture is the only clue as to what they have lined up for the celebration, but from what I can gather it seems like it could possibly be some sort of balloon ride?
New limited edition prints from Poster Child Prints (PCP), each in quantities of 50-100.
A brand new iPhone application allows for users to insert animated FWY characters with the capabilities to flip, tumble, twist, and turn into the device’s camera.
And this month, FWY is holding a competition – best pictures utilizing the new technology wins a free plush doll.
And finally, custom skins for laptops, iPhones, and iPods.
