Several new Knight-supported events have landed on the February calendar, so we’re sending an update. Whether you’re connecting with Latin American and U.S. media innovators at Media Party Miami  or hacking for civic change at Code Across 2015, there are plenty of opportunities to learn and get involved in the community.

• Feb. 13-14: Media Party Miami presents two days of panels and speakers and media innovation and hands-on learning with leaders in U.S. and Latin American media.
• Feb. 13: The Idea Center presents Pioneers @ MDC with education entrepreneur John Katzman.   
• Feb. 18: Jose Estabil, Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MIT Skoltech Intiative, gives a talk “Innovation Happens Everywhere” at The Idea Center. 
• Feb. 19-22: Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science presents Innovation and Engineering Weekend.
• Feb. 19: The Idea Center presents Pioneers @ MDC with Sean Ammirati, investor and partner at Birchmere Labs.
• Feb. 20: Celebrate The LAB Miami’s second birthday at The LAB Turns Two!
• Feb. 21: Code for America and Code for Miami present Code Across 2015 at Miami Ad School, part of a weekend of civic hacking events across the country focused on using technology to make our city and local governments better.
• Feb. 23-28: Black Tech Week takes place at locations across South Florida.
• Feb. 24: Knight Cities Challenge Miami Showcase in which the finalists from South Florida in the national competition present their ideas at the Miami Center for Architecture & Design.
• Feb. 25: Meet Knight Foundation Miami, the second of our twice-a-month community breakfasts.
• Feb. 26: Brainfood @ The LAB presents Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square and LaunchCode.
• Feb. 26: Network  for Teaching Entrepreneurship celebrates its new home at The Idea Center and presents the documentary film, TEN9EIGHT.
