Knight Foundation recently announced more than $1.7 million in support for SPUR: San Jose to support suburban-to-urban transformation in the sprawling Bay Area city.
SPUR: San Jose Director Leah Toeniskoetter recently spoke with Vignesh Ramachandran, a frequent contributor to Knight Blog, about the organization’s work and its vision.
This support is one element of Knight Foundation’s efforts to expand opportunities in San Jose, while helping to attract and retain talented people. San Jose is one of 26 Knight communities, places where Knight’s founders, brothers John S. and James L. Knight, once owned newspapers.
