TEDXWomen: innovative solutions for global challenges
Today, Knight Foundation is supporting TEDxWomen, hosted by the Paley Center for Media concurrently at their offices in New York and Los Angeles.
This year’s conference seeks to bring awareness to and engage more people in discussions about the role of women and girls as powerful change agents with innovative solutions for global challenges.
A livestream of the event is available. @TEDXWomen will also live-tweet the sessions using the hashtag #TEDXWomen.
The conference program will consist of four, 90-minute sessions – two per coast. Over the course of the day, which begins in New York City at 11 a.m. EST, more than two dozen speakers and performers will share their ideas on how women are shaping new solutions to global challenges in a TED talk format – highly visual and fast presentations of between 10 and 18 minutes each. The list of speakers is available online.
The conference will stream live from the stages in New York and LA to a global network of TEDxWomen events happening around the globe including two Knight communities, Miami and Charlotte. I wanted to thank Knight’s Matt Haggman, program director/Miami, and Susan Patterson, program director/Charlotte, in making the local events happen.
