This month’s lineup of Knight Foundation-supported events in Miami features opportunities for a cross-section of innovators—from the civic-minded hacker who yearns to catalyze change, to the casual creative who enjoys conversation over waffles.

Oct. 9: HYPE Miami, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s young professionals network, presents “Tech Tank: Keeping Miami Afloat in a Growing Technology Ecosystem.”
Oct. 9: TEDxMiami presents a live stream of TEDGlobal at The Stage.
Oct. 13: The American Institute of Architects Miami chapter presents a talk at the Miami Center for Architecture and Design by Jaime Lerner, urbanist, architect and former mayor of Curitiba, Brazil, on his book “Urban Acupuncture.”
Oct. 13, 20 and 27: Code for Miami’s weekly civic hack night at The LAB Miami.
Oct. 14: Startup Grind Miami presents an interview with Melissa Krinzman, founder and managing director of Venture Architects and partner at Krillion Ventures, at The LAB Miami.
Oct. 15: The Miami Foundation presents its “2014 Our Miami Report” at the Bakehouse Art Complex.
Oct. 16: WynCode presents Pitch Day No. 2 at The LAB Miami.
Oct. 18: NewME returns to Miami with its PopUp Accelerator, Idea Lab, at Revolt Music Conference.
Oct. 21: Brainfood @ The LAB with Manny Medina, founder of the eMerge Americas technology conference and chairman and CEO of Medina Capital Partners.
Oct. 23: Enterprise Development Corp. in partnership with Florida Venture Forum presents the Emerging Technology Business Showcase at Miami Dade College.
Oct. 23: Casimiro Global Foundation presents its annual reception, “Young Minds of the Past, Present & Future” at the Miami Innovation Center.
Oct. 25: Maker Saturdays by MIAMade, a monthly workshop for makers in Miami.
Oct 25 and 26: TechWeekend @ the Dolphins, two days of tech events, including a hackathon, at Sun Life Stadium.
Nov. 8: The Miami Mini Maker Faire returns for its second year.
