Alec Schwartzman joined Knight Foundation’s 2015 summer internship program in June. He works with Michael D. Bolden, the editorial director.
Schwartzman, a Miami native, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management with honors from Tulane University, where he studied marketing and English with a focus in creative writing. He most recently worked for the university’s student-run newspaper, The Hullabaloo. He served as the arts and entertainment editor, focusing on the coverage of New Orleans’ historic music, food and culture. In his spare time, he writes creative fiction and poetry.
Schwartzman plans to continue working in journalism and freelance writing for online publications. He is particularly interested in covering local and national music scenes.
