Carlos J. Mercado joined Knight Foundation in 2023 as a Data Analyst. Prior to Knight, Carlos dedicated himself to the field of education as an AP Physics Teacher at Stoneman Douglas High School, where he significantly improved the program’s success rate. Additionally, he sponsored various honor societies and led several academic teams to achievements at the state level. He also engaged in diverse international volunteer projects, from education initiatives in the Marshall Islands to healthcare efforts in Nicaragua.

Carlos earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Bucknell University.
