Claire Pfitzinger joined Knight Foundation in 2024 as officer of communications. She brings deep experience in project management, digital communications, and media relations.

Prior to Knight Foundation, Claire supported philanthropic communications at the Bezos Earth Fund. In her role, she managed public relations and supported digital content creation to advance organizational thought leadership and amplify the stories of grant recipients across the Earth Fund’s climate and nature portfolios.

Before joining the Earth Fund, Claire developed and executed marketing strategies at a venture-backed, affordable housing startup and supported Sierra Club’s legal advocacy efforts within the organization’s Environmental Law Program. Claire holds a B.A. in International Development from UCLA.

Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Claire now resides in Miami, Florida.
