Sofia Bliss-Carrascosa joined Knight Foundation in 2025 as an associate for the Journalism Program, after interning for the team during her last summer of college.

She brings a background in research and academia, having spent her undergraduate years at Duke University deeply engaged in studying journalism, misinformation, and the dynamics of online communication platforms. In her time as a research assistant and student, Sofia worked on and published work in several areas of media and communication. She holds a B.A. in Public Policy Studies with a minor in Journalism and Media Studies. 

Born and raised in California’s Bay Area, Sofia now resides in Miami, FL.
