Sophie Braga de Barros joined Knight Foundation’s 2015 summer internship program in June. She works with Anusha Alikhan, the director of communications.

Barros is a rising junior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, studying journalism, Latin American studies and electronic media at the University of Miami. She has worked as a staff writer for The Miami Hurricane newspaper and as the executive producer of “UMTV Pulse,” an entertainment news show.

Barros is a passionate news junkie. Her other interests include event programming, community building and exploring the great city of Miami.
