Travis Lane joined Knight Foundation’s internship program in June 2019. He works with Chris Thompson, San Jose program director.

Lane is a student at Western Washington University, where is studying journalism and political science. Upon graduation, he hopes to practice journalism internationally, chasing stories about under-reported societies and areas of political turmoil.

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Lane is thrilled to be home for the summer working to engage and support local communities in designing the future of this rapidly-changing region. In his free time, Lane enjoys reading and writing, as well as romping around the redwood forests and rock climbing in California’s many beautiful outdoor environments.
