Walker West’s new home at 760 Selby is 60% complete. Welsh Construction began the build-out of the Academy’s new 5,938 square foot facility in March and Walker West’s entire operation will be at the new site by June 2014.

Check out the photo set below on the Walker West’s Facebook page to see the progress on the space. The framing has been completed and drywall installation has begun. Next up will be interior painting, exterior banners and windows. Stay tuned for more photo sets showing all of the progress.

One highlight of the 760 Selby development is the performance venue which will seat up to 75 audience members. The stage, fashioned similar to jazz venues like the Dakota Jazz Club and the Artist’s Quarter will provide a new acoustic music space on Selby Avenue. The Academy plans to hold regular music events in the space that are free and open to the public, providing both an enriching opportunity for Walker West students and their families, but the Summit-University community.
