Monday evening, I the opera, “Carmen” at the Ziff Opera House. I won tickets to the performance through the contest put on by the Grand Opera with grant from theKnight Foundation. I was excited to dress up and have somewhere fancy to go on a Monday evening. When we arrived at the Ziff Opera House, it was nice to see people of all ages out for a night on the town. There were tables set up to promote different companies handing out free of coffee, wine and other treats. People were dressed up in beautiful dresses and suits. It was such a great experience to see all of these things around me! I had only been to the opera one other time when I was in high school – nearly10 years ago, I’m sure. I saw a production of “The Barber of Seville” but I don’t remember much about the whole experience.
