Chamber music officially arrives at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens this month as Knight Foundation and The Sixth Floor Trio launch the GardenMusic festival. To be held each spring, the GardenMusic festival hopes to inspire national interest & excitement; make music an integral part of the Fairchild experience; and foster engagement and creativity in the South Florida community. Highlights of the 2012 festival include:

• Four “subscription” concerts, each with a different programmatic theme
• One special subscription concert focusing on collaborations with artistic genres like dance, video, poetry, drama and visual art
• A kids concert
• Daily open, outdoor rehearsals featuring a single piece with a spoken introduction from the artists
• Random Acts of Culture
• Diverse educational activities ranging from instrument demonstrations to short performances
