The producing committee and advisory board of the BlackStar Film Festival in Philadelphia held a special cocktail reception, sponsored by The Capital Grille, to celebrate past and future donors of the fledgling festival. Attendees included prominent supporters of arts and culture including Knight Foundation Philadelphia Program Director Donna Frisby-Greenwood. The festival is a two-year recipient of the Arts Challenge Grant. The 3rd annual festival takes place July 31-August 3. Film and screenplay submissions are open now through May 15.
