“High Tea” on Saturday, August 30th from 8-10 p.m.  marks the conclusion of Guillermo León Gómez’s month-long residency at Inkub8 (a Knight Arts grantee).

During his residency, Gómez has focused on his obsession with repetition, replication and consumerist culture and how those three things impact the body and/or are expressed through the body. He has created a series of video works that will be exhibited during the closing event and reception.

For the closing performance, Gómez plans to transform the “bar” into a digital projection that will expose the vacuous effects of consumption. At 9 p.m., Gómez will lead an interactive performance game to demonstrate how quantity, or over-consumption, creates chaos.
