Innovative dance at the Neighborhood Theatre
Tonight, the Neighborhood Theatre presents “Genealogy,” an evening of dance and live music, with performances by the Triptych Collective, Juliana Tilbury Dance Projects and the Dance District. Modern jazz will be performed by the Nano Trio. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $7 at the door and tickets include a free drink ticket provided by Benford Brewing.
The Triptych Collective is an innovative dance group based in Charlotte that blends dance, visual art and live music in non-traditional spaces. Bordering on performance art, Triptych Collective strives to make thought-provoking, concept-driven works. With “Genealogy,” the group will be showcasing a work in progress to be further developed this fall and winter.
Juliana Tilbury Dance Projects will be performing “So Far,” a work choreographed by Juliana Tilbury. Through dance, Tilbury strives to “create a living metaphor of a relationship and its friction, complexity, and beauty.” The Dance District, a dance studio and booking agency specializing in jazz, hip hop and contemporary dance, will also perform for “Genealogy.” Don’t miss what is sure to be an innovative night of dance and art.
