Last chance to apply to 2012 Knight Arts Challenge Miami

Don’t miss your chance to apply to the 2012 Knight Arts Challenge Miami. There’s only a few days left to submit your idea before Monday’s deadline. If you have a great idea in the arts we want to hear from you (and soon!) The challenge seeks to draw the best and most innovative ideas out of local organizations and individuals, as a way to bring the community together through the arts. And it’s open to anyone – individuals, non-profits, for profits. There are just three simple rules: the idea must be about the arts, it must take place in or benefit South Florida and you must find other funding to match Knight’s support.

Are you still fine tuning your proposal? Don’t miss insider tips on how to win a challenge grant from Knight Arts associate Tatiana Hernandez. We also have more tips on how to make your application stand out to the panel reviewing submissions.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been doing a series of Q&As with past challenge winners, asking them what inspired them to apply, what advice they’d give to potential applicants and getting updates on how their projects are progressing. Read what The Rhythm Foundation, The Miami Light Project, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the City of Miami Beach – Sleepless Night Festival and the Miami City Ballet have to say.

This marks the fifth year of the challenge in Miami. In the last four years, 109 ideas were funded. Need inspiration or want to see what past winners of the challenge are up to in South Florida? The Miami Herald recently profiled several winning projects, including the Borscht Film Festival, Karen Peterson and Dancers, the Evergaldes’ Artist in Residence program and more. You can also browse all the past winners here.

If you have questions about the application process, make sure to read the Knight Arts Challenge Miami FAQ or watch the replay of our March 7 Q&A where Knight program staff answered questions. If you still need to reach us, send an e-mail to [email protected].

For the first time ever, applications are now being accepted in Spanish and Creole. So what are you waiting for? Don’t miss the deadline – this Monday, March 19. Visit the Knight Arts Challenge Miami application page and apply today!
