Lace up those sneakers, select a designated driver and come to South Beach for the first-ever (and hopefully annual) LitCrawl Miami. LitCrawl, somewhat invented in San Francisco, is a literary pub crawl series brought to Miami from the folks at the O, Miami Poetry Festival.

What you need to know: you don’t have to know anything about poetry. What you need to do: enjoy this mad-cap, “choose-your-own-adventure” evening of literary events that winds its way through South Beach bars and cultural venues.The festivities begin at 6 p.m. at the B Bar at The Betsy South Beach. At The Betsy, novelist Russell Banks and poet Chase Twichell will read.

Two stops that I’m partial to? Poppin’ the Pimple: Sharing Our Awkward Teenage Writing, presented by Mangrove Literary Journal at Books & Bookson  Lincoln Road at 7:30 p.m. And “Eros Erased, Eros Collaged,” a mad-cap, dress-up collage and erasure poetry workshop at the Richard Shack Gallery of the Art/Center South Florida, which starts promptly at 8 p.m.
