The 2011 DocMiami International Film Festival launched its “DocMiami Save the Arts in Public Schools” initiative with special screenings for public school students. In partnership with Miami-Dade County Public School’s Cultural Passport program, students from Westland Hialeah Senior High School were able to attend screenings hosted by Millennia Atlantic University. Attendees received the full film festival experience. Students walked the red carpet, watched documentary films, met the actual filmmakers and participated in Q & A Sessions with real film making professionals.
