Miami Dance Mecca photo exhibit debuts at Miami International Airport

In 2012, Miami Dance Mecca, run by Brazz Dance Theater, was awarded a $45,000 Knight Arts Challenge Miami grant to build Miami’s reputation as an emerging center for contemporary dance. Brazz Dance & MDC set out to create new works, help dancers develop professionally and launch a Brazilian dance festival.

This month, part of that vision is executed as the Miami Dance Mecca Photo Exhibit goes on exhibit at Terminals E-D at the Miami International Airport. The exhibit features photographs of Augusto Soledade Brazzdance and is billed as a celebration of “emotion, texture and precision in movement as the dancers leap, turn and design the space within the camera frame.”

The Miami Dance Mecca Photo Exhibit is a collaborative artistic effort between Augusto Soledade, ASBD Artistic Director, and Yolanda Sanchez, Director of MIA Division of Cultural Affairs, and features the photography by Mitchell Zachs, Jade Matarazzo and David Whitman.
