Miami Sculpture Biennale Debuts Along Biscayne Boulevard

Biscayne Boulevard becomes a bit more beautiful this week as the first Miami Sculpture Biennale arrives in town. Hosted by Wynwood-based gallerist Gary Nader and curated by Ricardo Pau-Llosa, the selection of sculptures celebrates the “importance of art in our everyday lives.” The 50-piece selection ranges from medium to monumental and spans indoor and outdoor spaces along Biscayne between the Intercontinental Hotel to the American Airlines Arena (the future site of the Miami Art Museum’s projected sculpture garden).

The Biennale’s selection reflects a broad range of aesthetic and stylistic perspectives and a massive global footprint – participating artists include Al-Bahrani (Iraq), Pablo Atchugarry (Uruguay), Bernar Venet (France), Fernando Botero (Colombia), Agustin Cardenas (Cuba) and John Chamberlain (USA).

The exhibit is free and open to the public through January 15. Click here for a complete list of artwork and locations.
