Next round of Knights Arts Miami Challenge now open

The Knight Arts Challenge Miami is now accepting applications for the 2012 year!

This five-year, $40 million initiative by Knight Foundation is looking for the most innovative and engaging ideas in the arts in South Florida. The best part is anyone can apply – individuals, non-profits, for profits, it doesn’t matter.

Applications are due by Monday, March 19 at midnight.

There are three simple rules:

1)   Your idea needs to be about the arts.

2)   Your project must take place in or benefit South Florida.

3)   You must find funds to match Knight’s committment.

Throw away everything you know (or don’t know) about writing a grant and focus on the core of your idea.

Be as clear and concise as possible – you only have about 150 words to tell us about your project.

(Here’s a tip: it helps to have a short and catchy title.)

Whether you’re an individual artist, like Darla Jackson, with an idea to open a shared resource space for sculptors (Philadelphia Sculpture Gym), or a city institution, like the Miami Downtown Development Authority, looking to leverage an historic venue through a summer concert series (Summer Shows at the Gusman), we need to hear from you.
