On November 18, Macon Arts Alliance hosted “Writing about Writing,” the second in a series of six symposia in the Art Matters Symposium Series. The event, featuring a panel discussion about literary arts and literary criticism, was held at the Sidney Lanier Cottage in Macon. The free event, co-sponsored by Historic Macon Foundation and Crossroads Writers Conference, is a part of an arts journalism project of Macon Arts Alliance in collaboration with Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism.

The panel included Charles McNair, books editor for PASTE magazine and author of Pickett’s Charge; Valerie Boyd, associate professor at the University of Georgia Grady School of Journalism and editor of the journals of Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Alice Walker; and Teresa K. Weaver, book columnist for Atlanta magazine and editorial director at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Art Matters Critic-in-Residence Steve Murray was the moderator of the panel discussion. A full video of the symposium has been published YouTube here.
