ScreenDance Miami issues open call for films
Attention Miami-based artists: Tigertail is looking for high-quality films that examine movement and dance for the 2015 ScreenDance Miami Festival, which will run January 22-25, 2015. Summer workshops begin in July at Inkub8. The deadline for film submissions is September 1st of this year.
ScreenDance Miami is curated by Marissa Alma Nick and supports new and emerging concepts that capture dance created specifically for film. The festival supports the development and greater public awareness of this new form of artistic expression.With Tigertail’s support, ScreenDance Miami reveals a new way of creating and experiencing movement.
The previous festival featured films created by Miami-based artists, such as Dinorah de Jesus Rodriguez, Gabri Christa, Juan Carlos Zaldivar, Yara Travieso, among others. What makes the festival significant is that it provides artists with extensive support through a series of workshops, webinars and panel discussions that run concurrently with the festival.
