“The Art Fair Phenomenon”
Art fairs have exploded in recent decades; they attract some 70,000 artists, dealers, collectors, enthusiasts, curators and glitterati per show. Miami in particular has become a key hub as the global art world gathers there in December for Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Miami. Nick Korniloff, Show Director and Executive Vice President of Art Miami, will speak on this “Art Fair Phenomenon” at a lecture presented by the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Jerald Melberg Gallery on November 6th.
Established in 1989, Art Miami is a leading international contemporary and modern art fair in the Wynwood Arts District. Korniloff is credited with re-positioning Art Miami for its current success, as well as conceiving and creating the Art Wynwood, Art Southhampton, CONTEXT and Art Silicon Valley/San Francisco art fairs. He has more than 18 years of experience in art fair management and production.
The lecture is free, but reservations are required. A pre-lecture reception will begin at 6 p.m. with wine and light hors d’oeuvres. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
