“The Emerald House” opens at Inkub8

[Ce n’est pas nous], an experimental performance ensemble founded by choreographer and dancer Priscilla Marrero, sculptor and filmmaker Ferrán Martín, and musician/composer Matthew Evan Taylor, will present “The Emerald House” as part of the Artists in Residence program at Inkub8, a Knight Arts grantee.

“The Emerald House.”

“The Emerald House” examines the ideal body established by the masters of modern architecture, where clean lines, sharp angles and the absence of ornamentation led to a simplification of form.

This interdisciplinary collaboration brings together disparate elements—sound, movement, image—to erect a conceptual structure that deconstructs the origin of the ideal body. “The Emerald House” is the result of a month-long residency where the artists have been given space to develop their project.

On Friday, September 27, “The Emerald House” will premiere with a feedback-and-discussion session after the performance.

“The Emerald House” premieres Sept. 27 at 8 p.m., and there will be a post-performance discussion session. A second performance will take place on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $15.
