The Macon Arts Alliance wins a National Endowment for the Arts Art Works grant
Good news for arts journalism. The Macon Arts Alliance has been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Art Works grant. The grant is for $80,000 ($40K from NEA, $40K match from Knight Foundation) for a multi-pronged program, including:
- A series of critic/artist symposiums where a prominent critic and a practicing artist is brought in to discuss the role and practice of art criticism. The symposiums will be organized around these discrete mediums: popular music, classical music, film, visual arts, theatre & dance and literature & poetry
- Creating embedded internships at arts organizations where students look for interesting stories, create videos and help organizations improve their social media presence
Macon Arts Alliance is one of 817 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. Click here for additional details and stay tuned for updates from the Macon Arts Alliance
