A holiday tradition returns to Charlotte November 29 through December 2: the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra’s “Magic of Christmas” concert! The CSO (a Knight Arts grantee) will be joined by the Children’s Choir and Oratorio Singers for a festive evening full of good cheer and holiday classics. The “Magic of Christmas” is part of the Pops series, which features 20th- and 21st-century tunes with popular hits from rock ‘n’ roll, folk, jazz, Broadway and cinema.

The concert will be performed at the Belk Theater at varying times throughout the week: Thursday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 30 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, December 1 at 2:30 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, December 2 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices begin at $27.50, while Pops series packages begin as low as $96.

Albert-George Schram will conduct the “Magic of Christmas,” and his enthusiastic, whimsical style is sure to please audiences and inspire the Christmas spirit. Schram has conducted with the Charlotte Symphony for 13 seasons.  He is responsible for programming and guest artist selection for the Pops series, and there very well maybe surprise guests at the “Magic of Christmas” concert.

The “Magic of Christmas” is also the last opportunity for real time silent bids on trees in the Symphony Guild of Charlotte’s “Festival of Trees.” Thirteen trees decorated by Charlotte designers and businesses adorn the Blumenthal Center for the Performing Arts. The auction closes on December 2 and winners will be notified by December 3.
