The Project [theatre]: Nov 2013 update

By Jackie Rivera, The Project [theatre]

(Gasp!) Please believe us when we say this is the first breath of air we’ve been able to take since July. I know we were irresponsible and left you guys out in the cold to forage our facebook page for whatever crumbs we were dropping about our goings on. Good work, gumshoes! As a result, we’ve had some really great turn outs for the first 2 performances of POP ART! A gallery-specific show that explores art, artists and the importance of it in our society and within our human expression of life and creation. Don’t worry…its a comedy.

Back in September we collaborated with UNIX gallery in Wynwood where we infiltrated the murky waters of ArtWalk with the first performance of POP ART! And then again about a month later in October as a part of the inaugural inception of PerformanceWalk thrown by Miami Design District which was insanely successful in reaching yet another audience of theater novices. We were incredibly pleased to collaborate with Bakehouse Art Complex as they provided the actual artwork to fill the huge gallery space allotted to us for the gig. Our lull in the blog-dom is partly due to the time and energy we’ve been dedicating to fostering collaborations like this one… And may have some tricks up our sleeves to show you all very very soon!

Personally though, our headquarters for world domination (strike through) The Project company is enjoying a healthy social life and as David and Elayne’s circles grow to permeate newest cohort, Stephen Kaiser’s circles, the ideas and creative environment couldn’t be more manifesting. We are in the primal stages of developing a piece highlighting Stephen’s hidden talents as a companion to the institution that is Connie Lingus Enterprises. And with that… We have been hard at work developing the framework of what might be our first official “season” as they say in showbiz.

When 1 of your key players lives at the opposite end of the east coast, its hard to pick something up and just do it, but we’ve managed! However, merely managing is not ideal. So with a projected idea of the year ahead, we are now able to afford, in time and money, to assemble properly and reveal it to you all, full throttle.

Oh, whats our season? Sure! Its… NOT! Come on…did you really think it’d be that easy? Or did you forget how sexy and secretive we are? Never forget. Once all of the details are solidified, we will release information on a need to know basis to avoid anarchy…you know, like the government. Hahaha. But really, we even have ideas about how to bring you all in on the action not only on the day of the show itself (where, there is PLENTY of action, if you’ve never been) but also a peek under our skirts to see how the action…develops. Very exciting for us…and also for our die-hard fans and ambivalent some-timers.

So…keep your eyes peeled and your ears open…you never know where we might show up next! Regardless…you definitely wont hear it from us! #justkidding #prettysureourgenerationinventedselfdepricatinghumor
