TU Dance 2012 update
By Abdo Sayegh, TU Dance TU Dance performed twice to a full house at the Fall For Dance Festival in New York City. Uri Sands and dancer Yusha Marie Sorzano danced High Heel Blues, a sassy, playful, utterly comedic duet based on a woman’s desire for shoes that she knows are no good for her, and the salesman who helps her along the path to fulfillment. The company performed also at the Sheldon Theater on October 13, and shared with the Red Wing, MN community through a series of residencies and master classes. The entertainment will be provided by TU Dance Center students and the company will preview Uri’s new work to be premiered at The O’Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University on November 16-18. Toni and Uri will welcome friends from the past, and new friends from the Light Rail Corridor/University Avenue in Saint Paul, including award-winning premium Chocolat Celeste. On the last note, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine visited Toni and Uri’s condominium in Saint Paul featuring their space in the Ninth Annual Home Tour 2012.
