By Bruce Warren, WXPN WXPN launched it’s inaugural video for The Key Studio Sessions in August with the local Philadelphia band Sisters 3 including the Sadler siblings—Annachristie, Beatrice and Cassandra. Sisters 3 are known largely for their collaborative work among the Philadelphia folk community, backing up Hoots And Hellmouth and Hezekiah Jones with their three-part harmonies. Recording a Key Studio Session in the WXPN studios, Sisters 3 performed songs from their second full-length album, Coruscate At The Meadow Gate, and showcased a range of musical styles stretching from driving indie-rock to pure pop. All five songs from their recording and performance (featuring the rhythm section of Todd Erk on bass and Mike Bardzik on drums) are made available for free on The Key here. One of the songs from the Sisters 3 Key Studio Session – “Please To Meet You” – is also included on Volume 2 of The Key Studio Sessions free digital download of 17 local Philadelphia bands. Volume 2 of The Key Studio Sessions was released in September and is available to download for free.
