ZERO1 has kicked off the New Year with the announcement around their brand new website for American Arts Incubator, an international artist exchange program planned in partnership with the U.S. State Departments Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Take a peek at americanartsincubator.org to learn more about the hybrid training lab and public art production workshop that addresses community issues through cross cultural art collaborations. Through the website, you’ll be able to follow the artists such as Kendal Henry as he works with communities in Papua New Guinea to explore how art can be a tool to empower women, or see how Xiaowei Wang addresses economic empowerment in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia via digital mapping. So read, share, and follow the artists, starting with Kendal Henry, who will be on the ground in Papua New Guinea on March 7^th.

Besides the website, ZERO1 announced that the American Arts Incubator has been renewed for a second year! In Spring 2016, four new American Arts Incubator artists will be selected to travel to China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam where they will team up with youth and underserved populations to inspire creative ideas for community engagement through art programs. In the next few months, they will begin accepting proposals to select the next four artists. Stay tuned and in the meantime see what’s happening at americanartsincubator.org.
