Funding Arts Broward partners with artist Margi Nothard

To promote the winning projects for the first annual Funding Arts Broward/Knight New Work Award, FAB! engaged award-winning designer and artist Margi Nothard to create a poster for distribution throughout Broward County. Margi Nothard is the Design Principal and visionary founding partner of Glavovic Studio. Her firm’s mission is to provide innovative design oriented solutions and creative thinking for people and places. Nothard has left her stamp on many memorable locations in Broward County, such as ArtsPark Project in Hollywood, Young at Art Museum, Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, Girls’ Club Collection, and Hollywood Arts Park at Young’s Circle, to name a few.

Recently, journalist Paul Clemence describes Nothard’s recent enhancement to the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale in Metropolis Magazine online: “What started as a temporary access stairway to a blockbuster show, ended up becoming part of a permanent assemblage of architectural elements that redefined and enhanced the museum’s connection to the street and city fabric.

Margi is a member of the Third Avenue Artists, a group of nine professional artists, with national and international recognition working in studios in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Her drawings and architecture blur the boundaries of art and architecture elevating the role of design and creating a critical discourse within our community.

She was the perfect choice to design a vehicle for promoting the FAB!/Knight New Work award winners – the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood ($50,000) and Mosaic Theatre and Broward Film Society ($20,000 each). The poster also creates awareness of the existence of the FAB!/Knight New Work Award, which enables arts organizations in Broward County to mount more ambitious productions in the visual and performing arts.

The public is invited to visit, participate and experience these three award winners in their own communities.
