Have a post Thanksgiving celebration at Viernes Culturales

Turkey day would not be complete without a night out on the town.  The monthly festival that brings art & culture to Miami every last Friday of the month is gearing up for another unforgettable night.  November’s Viernes Culturales brings fashion, art and music all wrapped into one.  Kick start the festivities with a fashion show by G Moss Designs at the Domino Plaza Stage (SW 15th Ave & 8th Street).  Guests can enjoy a unique show featuring clothes and accessories inspired by urban street wear, Japanese anime and comic book illustrations.  Visit www.gmossdesign.com.

Next on the stage is the talented Merengue star Tony Swing. The former member of renowned Latin bands like Oro Solido and Pochy y la Coco band blends traditional merengue with merengue ripiao rhythms that will be sure to heat up a cool November night.  Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes.

Legendary local historian Dr. Paul George continues to lead guests on a journey through Little Havana each month.  Go back in time with Dr. George as he reveals fascinating details about Little Havana’s history and leads guests on a tour through the historic Shenandoah neighborhood.  Guests will also see the site of the historic Blecher Homestead and the Brigade 2506 Museum.  The free tour begins at the Tower Theater (1508 SW 8th Street) at 7pm.

The Viernes Culturales Art Gallery is not to be missed.  The popular gallery features an exhibition by a different artist every month.  This month, the gallery will celebrate the vivid works of artist, Natalie Nauta from Curacao. Her use of textures and vivid colors in her art work reflect her love and appreciation for the Caribbean and Miami. The gallery is open to all and is located at 742 SW 16th Avenue, 7-10p.  Visit www.natalie-nauta.com.

Attention cinema lovers: We would like to invite you to discover one of Miami’s best-kept secrets, the historic Tower Theater (SW 15th Ave & 8th Street).
