2024 Knight New Work Akron

In Akron, Knight New Work allocated a total of $250,000 for three locally based artists and arts organizations who utilize technology in their practices to enhance the way art is created, shared and experienced.

As accessibility to emerging technologies has increased, artists and arts organizations are harnessing the power of new digital tools to redefine the boundaries of artistic expression. In support of this novel approach, Knight Foundation launched Knight New Work — first in Miami, then moving to Knight cities across the country.

“Knight New Work supports artists in leveraging the latest digital tools and technology to create works that foster connection between people and place,” said Jennifer Farah, Knight Foundation’s Arts Director. “This year’s Knight New Work recipients are developing exciting works that reimagine how the audience thinks about everyday spaces.”

The 2024 Knight New Work recipients in Akron will use new technologies to create visual installations, reimagining how audiences interact with public spaces throughout the city.
